Antique & Replacement Hardware in Restored Early 20th Century Glory!
Our old hardware store has been selling hardware to the public since 1885. The native stone building today houses a variety of primitives, old stock, and antiques, but specializes in original replacement architectural and furniture hardware. The owner, Miss Margaret, takes pride in keeping the integrity of the pre-1900 store while stocking the store with hard-to-find items that were used decades ago.
Take a look at our picture album and catalog! We have provided you with the feel of the olden days when the local hardware store was the center of activity. We just wish we could send along the smell and sounds of the place too: the oils, wood-burning fire, creaky plank flooring, and squeaky rolling ladder!
All hardware and tools are original and described in detail. We restore authentic pieces by cleaning and repairing when needed. Occasionally in restoration, new pins, bolts, or screws will be used, but the originality is maintained. Because we salvage unique old pieces, our supply is limited and often one of a kind. We welcome inquiries and especially enjoy showing off our historic establishment if you happen to be in our area of Kansas.
Come and browse in this unique retail business of hardware and antiques, and feel that you have stepped back 80 years in this quaint museum-style store!
